SuperQuiz Practice Test - Meeting on Thursday the 17th of November

Today the students had a 15-minute practice test for the SuperQuiz and the results were not as good as I would have expected.

There were some questions that everyone or nearly everyone got wrong, and I will be posting these questions and their correct answers on this blog at some point on Monday. Some of them were really not very difficult to guess as most of the other possibilities could have been eliminated through common sense. Moreover, I think that a reason for some of the wrong answers was that the students may have misread the questions.

In any case, I have calculated the average score and I have noted the minimum and maximum, all of which are below.

Minimum - 5 out of 20
Average - 8.7 out of 20
Maximum - 13 out of 20

During next week's session, we will probably be going over the answers, and I will e-mail each person's score to them over the weekend when Mr Moore presents me a list with names and scores. Since we wish to avoid any suspicion of me marking unfairly and showing favouritism, each student was issued a number from 1 to 10. This means that I do not know which student's paper I am marking.

I am contemplating whether we should have a practice test for Language and Literature during next week's lesson as well, and I will post whether or not this will be happening on Monday when I can speak to Mr Moore.
